What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Teacher/Mentor position at Tiger Time After School Program?
Tiger Time, the official after school program of Princeton Public Schools, is seeking caring, reliable, and engaging Mentors for the 2025-26 school year to support our students across the district’s four elementary schools: Johnson Park, Community Park, Littlebrook, and Riverside.
Tiger Time Mentors help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where students can unwind, connect with peers, and participate in meaningful activities at the end of their school day. This is a great opportunity for aspiring educators, counselors, youth workers, or anyone interested in working with children in a school-based setting.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with students in grades Pre-K to 5 during after school hours
- Facilitate enrichment activities, games, and free play
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff
- Support the social-emotional learning goals of the program through daily Streak Meetings and positive behavior strategies
- Follow all safety, supervision, and attendance protocols
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming program space
- Uphold the values and expectations of the Tiger Time program and Princeton Public Schools
Schedule & Availability:
- Staff must be available to work at least three consistent days per week, Monday through Friday
- At least two hours per work day are guaranteed, with extra hours based on staff-to-student rations. Hours range from 2:30pm-6:00pm. All candidates must be available to work beginning at 2:30, as arrival time is crucial to the program.
- Preference is given to staff who can work five days per week.
- Additional preference is given to staff who can work early dismissal days (1:00 p.m. start time)
Location: Tiger Time Mentors may be assigned to any of the four elementary buildings in Princeton Public Schools.

- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is preferred

- Must pass a background check and complete all required training
