Job Overview
Apet, a well-established and continuously growing company, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Coordinator for our East Dundee / Carpentersville location.
We’re looking for someone who communicates effectively (both written and verbal), can prioritize multiple tasks, and is committed to delivering efficient, courteous service to customers. The right candidate will thrive in a busy office setting and maintain strong attention to detail.
This position is scheduled Monday through Friday, averaging 31–35 hours per week.
Duties
- Create and update customer account records within the system.
- Perform accurate data entry related to payments, credits, and invoices.
- Actively follow up on outstanding balances and customers outside payment terms.
- Document all communication clearly and consistently for future reference.
- Provide professional, friendly customer service to support strong client relationships.
- Prepare and email customer statements according to each segment’s requirements.
- Generate weekly or bi-weekly A/R reports for account review and monthly one-on-one meetings.
- Handle timely submission of EDI invoices and/or credit card processing to ensure on-time payments.
- Notify supervisor or manager promptly of issues that may delay incoming payments.
- Escalate unusual account activity or anything requiring management review.
- Maintain an organized, clean workspace.
- Follow all Apet policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must have compassion for our animals, customers, and employees.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- 2–3 years of Accounts Receivable experience, non-negotiable.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and sound judgment when resolving issues.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
