We are seeking an experienced System Designer to develop and support integrated audio, video, lighting, control, and networking solutions for a variety of commercial and institutional projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with creative problem-solving to deliver high-quality system designs that meet client objectives.
The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and installation teams to create comprehensive system designs, technical documentation, and equipment specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Engineering
- Design integrated audio, video, lighting, control, and communications systems for new and existing facilities.
- Develop complete system documentation, equipment specifications, and project design packages.
- Create and verify bills of materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Utilize industry-standard software tools for loudspeaker modeling, system design, and technical documentation.
- Design broadcast video, camera, signal distribution, and fiber-based infrastructure solutions.
- Support lighting and control system design for medium- to large-scale installations.
- Develop basic network architectures, including segmented network environments and device integration.
- Assist with system commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation.
Project Collaboration
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, consultants, and installation teams throughout design and construction phases.
- Coordinate system requirements with electrical, IT, networking, and architectural stakeholders.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking.
- Provide technical support during project implementation and client handoff.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience designing professional audio, video, lighting, and control systems.
- Strong understanding of system integration principles and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with professional audio consoles, signal flow, and loudspeaker system design.
- Experience with broadcast video, camera systems, signal transport, and fiber infrastructure.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and device communication protocols.
- Strong technical documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel periodically for project support and site visits.
Preferred
- Industry certifications related to audio networking, control systems, or AV technologies.
- Experience with CAD, BIM, or technical drafting software.
- Experience using audio measurement and system optimization tools.
- Knowledge of lighting control systems and theatrical or architectural lighting environments.
Work Schedule
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours.
- Approximately 40–45 hours per week.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required for project support and commissioning activities.
