Job Summary:

We are seeking a part-time Smoking Attendant to join our team. As a Smoking Attendant, you will provide a clean and orderly smoking environment for our residents, ensuring their safety and comfort. 25 hours/week, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with smoking, lighting materials, and transportation to and from the designated smoking area
• Maintain a clean designated smoking area for residents
• Ensure residents maintain a safe smoking environment
• Demonstrate correct safety techniques
• Respect and take care of facility equipment and not wasteful of supplies
• Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions
• Keep confidential any resident information
• Contribute to and promote positive resident and family relations
• Follow facility policy and procedures
  
  
  

Requirements:

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• On-the-job training provided
• CNA license preferred, but not necessary
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
• Ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
• Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
• Ability to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations
• Familiarity with drug actions and interactions
• Knowledge of restorative nursing rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately
• Willingness to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing nursing practices
