SUMMARY:
The PSM Program & Training Specialist will provide regulatory compliance support for APCCO Divisions and customers. The PSM Program & Training Specialist is responsible for ensuring the compliance and auditory standards of customers systems and provides information and awareness of the same. The PSM Program & Training Specialist will contribute to a broad spectrum of service elements and functions, enhancing service projects, construction projects, improving customer relations, anticipating, and solving problems, and assisting to maintain an efficient and positive working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions/responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop Federal and State refrigeration safety programs PSM/RMP/Cal ARP
- Perform PHA-Process Hazard Analysis for customers
- Complete customers RMP-Risk Management Program requirements and submissions
- Perform 3-year compliance audits as needed
- Perform IIAR-9 Safety Evaluation Inspections of ammonia systems
- Assist customers to ensure that their program requirements are accurate and current
- Perform refrigeration operation, PSM and ammonia awareness, Hazmat, emergency response and ASTI training as needed
- Foster a strong a mutual working partnership with the Construction team, to support and leverage the established large customer base
- Produce sales and revenue streams through direct contact with customers, by preparing estimates and proposals for compliance services to the end user
- Competency in IRC programs to accurately perform calculations and ability to communicate the process to customers
- Support the Compliance Business Development Manager (CBDM) in pursuit of quality products of continuous revenue streams for the department
- Partner with the Compliance Business Development Manager to strategically grow the Compliance Service Division to increase revenue, profit margin and services available.
- Assist in education and dissemination of information to all APCCO personnel regarding the latest industry compliance requirements
- All decisions/actions should contribute to achieving the APCCO vision, mission, and goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment and is in an open room with constant activity and interaction with cross-functional divisions, departments, and sections. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phone, photocopies, filing cabinets, fax machines and other equipment as needed. This job will also at times be at customers locations, where the environment will be open, loud and have various pieces of equipment and in use, along with the exposure to a variety of sights and smells, including a variety of processing chemicals.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Able to create documents using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and format.
- Become fluent in VISTA and all other APCCO computer programs and applications as needed
- Ability to operate general office equipment (Computer, printer, fax, copier, mailing center, etc.)
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday _8_am to _5_ pm, however, based on the needs of the job, work hours may vary.
TRAVEL:
Travel is expected for this position, based on the duties to service the needs of the customer(s).
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Applied Science and/or Occupational Health & Safety.
- 5 years of experience working with PSM, Cal Arp and regulatory compliance in a management role of increasing responsibility.
- RETA certification or equivalent
- All APCCO employees who drive company owned vehicles or drive their own vehicle for company purposes:
- Must read, understand, and follow the requirements of the APCCO Motor Vehicle Policy and Vehicle Maintenance Policy
- Maintain a valid driver’s license
- Provide a clear DMV record that is insurable with our company vehicle insurance carrier, including no accidents, incidents or DUI in the past 5 years (and updated annually)
- Participate in company-sponsored programs to maintain or improve driver safety
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Sales and/or business development experience preferred.
