Essential/Core Job-specific Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for verifying clients’ eligibility, benefits, and insurance coverage for behavioral health services by using the various insurance web portals and clearinghouses and by calling the plans.
- Responsible for obtaining copay and deductible amounts and entering the information in the EMR system.
- Responsible for acting as a liaison between patients, program staff, and insurance carriers to ensure all information is collected and is correct.
- Responsible for answering patient and insurance company inquiries.
- Ensures all patient questions are answered and issues are resolved timely by utilizing the appropriate resources.
- Assist with reviewing aged receivables report and completing follow-up and adjustments as needed.
- Assists in training new employees on verifying insurances.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
