Job Description Position Title: Driver Position Reports To: Area Operations Manager Position Summary Driver is responsible for ensuring the jobsite has an adequate and timely flow of materials and equipment Essential Functions A construction expeditor must be organized and competent to handle several tasks. You should have excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Project management expertise as well as familiarity with fundamental technical and buying concepts will be highly helpful. Must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, but only on a regular basis, up to 25 pounds. Specifically calls for near vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the capacity to change focus. Education & Experience Minimum 1-2 years of driving experience Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a motor vehicle in a safe manner while carefully observing all traffic regulations Forklift experience, unloading/loading construction material Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Determine supply needs through technical details and schedules Manage the orders of material and equipment to meet project requirements Coordinate the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications Resolve problems to speed up delivery of orders Inspect orders upon arrival to ensure the correct quality and quantity Monitor inventory of supplies for different jobs or sites Place orders when needed aiming for timely delivery and competitive price Arrange the movement of material between locations Maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Work Conditions/Physical Demands Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
