Manual Machinist
Location: Houston, TX
Shift: Day Shift Available
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00/hour DOE (Depending on Experience)
Position Overview
Apache Workforce is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating conventional machining equipment to fabricate, repair, and modify precision metal parts and components. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of manual machining processes, blueprint reading, and precision measuring instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other conventional machining equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders.
- Set up and machine parts to required specifications and tolerances.
- Measure finished products using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and keep machines in good working condition.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments during production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with supervisors and production teams to meet manufacturing deadlines.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
- 2 years of manual machining experience preferred.
- Experience operating manual lathes, mills, and other conventional machine shop equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and materials.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with welding and fabrication processes.
- Technical or vocational training in machining is a plus.
