Position Overview
Apa & Gram's Kitchen is looking for friendly, dependable, and hardworking servers who enjoy creating a welcoming experience for every guest. As a server, you'll be the face of our restaurant, providing excellent customer service while working efficiently in a fast-paced breakfast and lunch environment. We value teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly with a friendly, welcoming attitude.
- Present menus, answer questions, and make food and beverage recommendations.
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring order accuracy.
- Monitor tables and provide attentive service throughout the meal.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues whenever possible.
- Process cash, credit card, and digital payments accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized dining room, including tables, condiment stations, and beverage areas.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, side work, stocking, and cleaning.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Help teammates during busy periods to provide the best guest experience.
Qualifications
- Previous serving or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm during busy meal periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Food Worker Card and alcohol service certification (if required by Alaska law) or the ability to obtain them.
