Job Summary

The Front-End Developer will play a key role in building user-facing experiences across Allia’s digital health platforms. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, this role focuses on creating scalable, responsive, and accessible interfaces across both web and mobile environments. The ideal candidate combines deep technical skills in React and React Native with strong collaboration and design sensibility, ensuring that Allia’s digital experiences remain fast, elegant, and consistent across platforms.
 This position may be based in Madeira or remote within Portugal or a Portuguese-timezone–aligned region.

Key Responsibilities

● Develop and maintain responsive, accessible, and performant web and mobile applications using React and React Native.
 ● Translate UI/UX designs from Figma or design systems into reusable, production-ready components.
 ● Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure consistent cross-platform functionality.
 ● Contribute to and maintain Allia’s shared front-end component libraries and design systems.
 ● Implement automated unit and integration tests for both web and mobile codebases.
 ● Optimize application performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across devices.
 ● Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and agile sprint ceremonies.
 ● Evaluate and adopt best practices for cross-platform development and deployment.

Required Qualifications

● MSc in Software Development or a related technical field (ideal).
 ● Minimum 3 years of professional front-end development experience, including cross-platform or mobile work.

Must-Have Skills

● Strong proficiency with React, React Native, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
 ● Proven experience developing and deploying React Native applications for iOS and Android.
 ● Solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
 ● Experience integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
 ● Familiarity with front-end build tools (Vite, Webpack, Metro bundler).
 ● Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build).
 ● Proficiency in automated testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Detox).
 ● Strong debugging and performance optimization skills across browsers and mobile environments.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience with any of the following: Google Cloud; Looker; Vertex AI; UiPath; N8N; GitHub & Google Cloud CI/CD; PostgreSQL; Docker; Kubernetes; or adjacent tools.
 ● AWS experience is welcome, though Google Cloud is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

● Salary Range: €50,000–€60,000 / $59,000–70,000 annually, depending on experience.

Physical Requirements

● Ability to work from a shared office space in Madeira, remotely within Portugal, or from a Portuguese-timezone–aligned region.
 ● Flexibility to adjust portions of the workday to increase overlap with US CST.
