Job Title: Field Technician
Location: Washington, DC (onsite)
Duration: Long Term
We are looking for Field Technicians to support cabling and IT infrastructure installations for a project on the in Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test Category 6/6E, large paircount copper, and fiber cabling
- Install communication room components (cabinets, racks, patch panels, wire management, grounding)
- Install and test wall plates, ONTs, and fiber/copper patch cords
- Work from technical drawings, schematics, and run lists
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and logistics teams
- Support troubleshooting, quality checks, and site safety requirements
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in cabling, IT systems, construction, or electrical environments (or equivalent education/training)
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions
- Strong communication and professionalism onsite
- BICSI Installer Level 2 (Copper/Fiber) preferred
Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a DHS campus access clearance and/or a DHS EOD (Entry on Duty)
- Must provide personal tools (GDIT/SETS II does not supply tools)
- Must follow all site safety protocols, including required PPE
