This position is responsible for promoting the value proposition, products, and services of AP Electric (Back-up Power Solutions and EV Charging Solutions). This position is responsible for: responding in a timely manner to incoming tasks (responding to technical questions, requests for quotes, order entry, applications assistance, product selection, helping resolving customer issues); outbound activities (following up on quotes, opportunities, and leads and maintaining account relations); providing support to our inside sales representatives and is responsible for promoting all aspects of exceptional Customer Service. This position is based at corporate headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, WI. This is where AP Electric’s call center, warehouse and headquarters is located.
Duties & Responsibilities (may include additional as needed)
- Demonstrate commitment to AP Electric positive and respectful workplace environment by leading, acting and behaving in a professional manner.
- Be a Technical Leader and Teacher of Technical Concepts related to AP Electric's manufactures.
- Be proficient in AP Electrics’ products and services offerings
- Understand industry and competitors’ products, services and capabilities.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Provide technical back-up for Inside Sales and Customer Service personnel.
- Through proficient use of interpersonal skills via phone and email, engage and probe customers to ensure their true needs are determined and provide optimal solutions.
- Work with our existing/new general contractors electricians business owners consumers to provide back-up power - Generator and EV Charging Station solutions.
- Provide bi-monthly training sessions on new concepts to inside sales personnel.
- Respond in a timely and accurate manner to incoming tasks, outbound activities and resolve issues.
- Complete and respond to quotes per customer requests.
- Enter received orders.
- Provide applications and product selection assistance
- Regular outbound calling to follow up on quotes, opportunities, and leads.
- Provide direct support to customers and inside sales representatives.
- Maintain account relationships with key decision-makers at assigned accounts, cultivate long-term relationships at all levels of account organization and with our OEMs (manufacturers) - Back-up Power OEMs - Generac, Kohler, Cummins, Briggs & Stratton and EV Charging Station OEMs - V Connect, Webasto, PowerCharge, ABB, EVOCharge, FreeWire and others).
Skills, Attributes and Experience - Required
- Experience in electrical or electronics technology or related technical field. The successful candidate must have the prior work experience with electrical and mechanical concepts and be able to successfully communicate them to customers and sales channel partners. (Back-up Power - Generator and EV Charging Station Solutions needed).
- 3-5 years of experience in sales of technology products in a business-to-business and business to consumer environments.
- A positive attitude and professional appearance along with the ability to thrive in a small company environment and build strong relationships with coworkers, customers and partners.
- Proficient computer knowledge (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Successfully perform duties with a sense of urgency
- Must be persistent, action-oriented, results-driven and self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task numerous activities but remain available for incoming calls
- Ability to interact well with all levels of customer functions. Highly Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field with relative sales experience
