Job Summary
AOC Construction is seeking a skilled Construction Finishing Specialist to perform painting, drywall finishing, texturing, surface preparation, repairs, and final finish work on a variety of commercial, industrial, and specialty construction projects. Candidates should take pride in craftsmanship, quality, and safety while working independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, and priming.
- Perform drywall finishing, including taping, floating, skim coating, texturing, and repairs.
- Apply paint, stains, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Match textures and finishes for repair and renovation projects.
- Protect surrounding surfaces and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Perform touch-ups and ensure quality workmanship throughout the project.
- Inspect completed work to verify finish quality, consistency, and adherence to project specifications.
- Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and painting equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, customers, and team members.
- Assist with punch list items and final project completion activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in painting, drywall finishing, or construction finishing preferred.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, or residential projects.
- Knowledge of paints, coatings, primers, and surface preparation methods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with airless spray equipment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience in minor carpentry, trim repair, or general construction finishing.
- Experience working in schools, healthcare facilities, government buildings, or industrial environments.
- Proficiency in drywall taping, floating, texturing, and repair work.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, project specifications, and safety requirements.
