St. John Regional Catholic School is seeking a full-time religion teacher. Our teachers are responsible for planning and implementing standard-based lessons as prescribed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Essential Functions
- Follow the guidelines and tenets of the Catholic Church and the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
- Create and implement lesson plans with clear objectives aligned with the Archdiocesan Course of Study, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, engage, and inspire students to think confidently and independently.
- Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students.
- Integrate the use of technology effectively into the curriculum.
- Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform duties as scheduled.
- Support the Catholic spirituality and mission of the school.
- Attend various school events such as Back to School Night, graduation, and Open House.
Position Qualifications
- Must be an active, practicing Catholic fully able to participate in the life of the church.
- Maryland certified or willing to pursue MD certification.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal fingerprint background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork.
- Support and uphold Catholic moral and social teaching and the mission of SJRCS (practicing Catholic preferred).
- Demonstrates ability to operate with a growth mindset and seek opportunities for feedback.
