St. Francis of Assisi School, located in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a part‑time Physical Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic school year. The Physical Education Teacher will provide grade school students a comprehensive academic and physical experience using the Archdiocesan and State of Maryland Physical Education curriculum. She/he is responsible for creating a learning environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function exercise, and athletics. This is a part-time,10-month teaching position.
Essential Functions
- Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
- Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
- Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, in a timely manner.
- Teach physical fitness, individual and team sports, utilizing appropriate learning activities.
- Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement.
- Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade book.
- Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification, required.
- Classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Proficient in using a variety of technology.

Pay Range: $6,174.00 - $7,056.00, Annually (10-month position/14 hours per week)
