Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Return incoming bill calls and collect patient payments over the phone
- Appeal denials and submit medical records upon request to various insurance companies
- Follow-up on aged Accounts Receivable insurance list
- Handle patient bill issues/concerns/questions while patients are in the office
- Mails primary and secondary claims daily
Requirements
Experience and Education
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-3 years of Insurance Reimbursement Experience
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively multi-task & prioritize.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Exceptional customer service skills and patient-interaction skills.
- Knowledge of cancer care agents, pharmacology of cytotoxic and immunologic agents a plus.
- Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record.
- Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
- Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
- Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.
