Head of Verification and Validation

Purpose Of The Role

This global engineering leadership role ensures our products meet the quality, reliability, and regulatory standards required for customer success, from initial development through production and field performance. By building strong verification capabilities, maintaining global compliance, and connecting field insights back to product improvement, this role protects our customers' operations and strengthens Antunes' reputation as a trusted equipment partner.

Key Accountabilities

• Build and lead a high-performing V&V team that ensures products meet customer requirements and quality standards before release, while developing the technical capabilities of team members.
• Ensure new products launch on-time with verified performance against customer and regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement of existing products through systematic validation in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Build and maintain laboratory capabilities that enable efficient, rigorous testing. Including capital equipment planning, facility infrastructure, resource allocation, and budgeting.
• Provide clear, data-driven visibility into product quality and reliability status throughout the development process, enabling informed go/no-go decisions during the gate review process.
• Ensure global regulatory compliance and certification (UL, ETL, CSA, CE, etc.) across all Antunes product lines, developing internal engineering capability through coaching and mentoring while managing external agency partnerships.
• Ensure engineering services deliver accurate, timely outputs that support product development and production, including documentation control, CAD design, and technical documentation.
• Drive V&V process efficiency by continuously improving cycle times and methodologies to accelerate time-to-market without compromising quality.
• Connect field quality data to product development, ensuring warranty, customer feedback, and field failure insights inform both V&V priorities and design improvements.
  
  

Success Measures

Lead Indicators: Verification milestones met on schedule, test plan completion rate, lab capacity utilization, agency submissions on time, training and certification completion

Lag Indicators: First-pass certification success rate, field failure rates, warranty costs, product launch delays due to V&V, customer complaints related to quality or reliability, time to market.

Qualifications

Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
• Verification and validation methodologies, global regulatory and certification standards (UL, CE, NSF, etc.), electromechanical product design, laboratory management, statistical analysis, and quality management systems.
• Technical team development, coaching, cross-functional collaboration, budget stewardship, external partnership management.
