About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, participate and assist in quantity preparation of foods at the central kitchen or assigned school site; serve food to students and staff according to established procedures; assist in maintaining food service facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.

Unit: CSEA Current Vacancies: 2 Classification Hours/Work Year: 3.5 to 5.5 hours day / 10 Mos. (180 Days – Student Days Only) CSEA Salary Range 115: Step A $21.46, Step B $22.54, Step C $23.69, Step D $24.88, Step E $26.14, Step F $27.47 APPLICATION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2026, by 4:30 P.M. A complete application, including responses to the supplemental questions and resume are required. PROMOTIONAL ONLY: * Restricted to probationary and permanent employees of the district and former employees on a valid reemployment list who meet the qualifications of the class. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above and one year experience in the preparation and serving of food in large quantities.
SELECTION & EXAMINATION: The selection process will consist of an application screening for completeness and qualifications, a written exam (weighted 40%) and oral panel interview exam (weighted 60%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on all exams to be placed on the eligibility list. Final selections will be made from the three highest accepting ranks off the eligibility list.
