About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Supervisor-Central Kitchen, perform a variety of functions at the Central Kitchen including receiving, inspecting, processing, and issuing food items and supplies; shelve, store and prepare food service items for delivery.
Requirements / Qualifications
Unit: CSEA Classification Hours/Days: 6.5 hours / 180 Days (School Days Only) Salary Range 118: Step A $23.11, Step B $24.28, Step C $25.51, Step D $26.80, Step E $28.15, Step F $29.58 APPLICATION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2026 by 4:30 PM. A complete application, including responses to the supplemental questions and resume are required. PROMOTIONAL ONLY: * Restricted to probationary and permanent employees of the district and former employees on a valid reemployment list who meet the qualifications of the class. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year experience at the level of a Nutrition Services Assistant II.
SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. If your application is accepted to move forward with the testing process, you will be notified via email of the date and location of the exams. A written examination (weighted 40%) and an oral panel interview (weighted 90%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
