Role Description
We are seeking a technically driven Inside Sales Engineer to support our valve supply, repair, and modification operations. This role bridges engineering and sales, requiring a strong understanding of industrial valve applications along with the ability to develop accurate, cost-effective solutions for customers.
This is a hybrid role with the opportunity to gain exposure to outside sales activities, including customer visits, relationship development, and field support. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on detailed technical quotes while also being open to engaging directly with customers and industry partners.
You will work closely with customers, engineering, and operations teams to interpret technical requirements, prepare detailed quotes, and support project execution, while gradually building toward a more client-facing, business development role.
Key Responsibilities
- Review RFQs, technical drawings, and specifications to determine scope and feasibility
- Prepare detailed quotes and cost estimates for valve supply, repair, and modification services
- Evaluate materials, pressure classes, end connections, and design requirements to recommend optimal solutions
- Provide technical support to customers regarding valve selection, performance, and service capabilities
- Collaborate with engineering and shop teams to ensure accurate execution of modifications and testing requirements
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify technical needs and deliver tailored solutions
- Support inside sales functions, including order processing, tracking, and follow-ups
- Assist in lead generation and business development efforts
- Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and industry interactions as needed
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred)
- Experience in industrial valves, flow control, or a related mechanical/engineering environment
- Strong knowledge of valve types, including ball, gate, globe, butterfly, and swing check valves
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards (API, ASME, etc.)
- Experience with quoting, cost estimation, or technical sales is strongly preferred
- Interest in or willingness to develop outside sales and customer-facing experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
