We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Life Engagement Director to manage, plan, and create activities programs for our residents. You will be responsible for ascertaining the needs of our resident population, shaping programs, and overseeing activities for residents in memory support. Responsibilities
- Know and understand the vision, purpose, values, and goals of Rancho Springs Memory Care
- Create and manage memory support activity program
- Plan, prepare, and direct in a variety of service programs for residents, specifically addressing the needs of the cognitively impaired
- Interview residents to determine recreational/activity history, needs, and interests
- Supervise and coordinate work of volunteer staff, performing administrative duties as needed
- Schedule, promote, lead, and instruct activities; arrange programs; encourage participation; and coordinate in-room programs
- Coordinate program services with director of resident services and/or other departments and committees
- May complete quality assurance audits, attend resident care meetings, and document residents' progress
- Facilitate and attend in-service training workshops and meetings as required
- Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests, and coworkers
- Promote and protect the rights of all residents
- College course work in social work, gerontology, psychology, recreation therapy, or a related field
- One to two years of experience, preferably in a dementia setting
- Possess or be able to possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and free of restrictions or limitations
- Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, as required by law
