Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Engage in risk analysis exercises with the Sourcing & Logistics team to be prepared for interruptions in rail and/or barge transportation.
- Define and establish market intelligence analyst agencies to obtain up-to-date and accurate information on the status of the sand market, as it relates to supply, demand and pricing.
- Proactively seek out and attend with team members, industry events, such as symposiums, conferences, or other networking activities to build network of peers from other operating companies and suppliers.
- Establish baseline metrics for the group to ensure proper monitoring of rail and barge transport from public domain websites
- Create and maintain positive relationships with vendors, non-contracted vendors, transload operators, railroads, and barge company representatives.
- Take the lead on all sand contract negotiations with suppliers and define the metrics for contract performance monitoring to properly recommend amendments, extensions, and ensure compliance to contractual obligations.
- Ensure the team has an understanding to the sub-sell of excess sand volumes as required and identify any breach of contract.
- Ensure the team is continually communicating with Completion Engineers on schedules and upcoming pilot projects.
- Oversee the reconsolidation efforts of consumed sand versus planned sand to understand inventory and contract requirements.
- Communicate sand contract financial impacts related to schedule changes within the Company to leadership.
- Oversee the process of sand forecast design and distribution to ensure that changes are considered and properly communicated to vendors.
- Collaborate with Accounting Department to define the proper cost allocation mechanisms for wells.
- Define key performance indicators for all suppliers and hold recurring meetings to ensure compliance.
- Identify, evaluate, and communicate new technologies for last mile transport and onsite sand storage systems.
- Review and approve cost analysis for sand purchases and delivery to other internal departments for planning and budgets.
- Generate purchase orders on a recurring basis to meet the need for either the upcoming month’s sand demand or frac jobs. Manage, review, approve or resolve disputes for sand supplier invoices.
- Assist in the contract process for other completion related services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, Licensure
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- At least ten (10) years of experience in Oil & Gas specific to procurement, contracts analysis, and logistics management.
- Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus in Completions operations.
- More than ten (10) years of experience in frac sand logistics, procurement, and contract negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Proficient background and understanding in completions engineering principles and operations, in order to communicate effectively regarding frac design changes, schedules, on-site equipment, and pad limitations.
- Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and implementing solutions for supply chain interruptions.
- Strong background in procurement or sourcing, contract analysis, vendor management, and bid processes.
- Thorough understanding of negotiation strategies and execution guidelines to develop contract drafts both commercial and legal terms.
- High level understanding of frac sand mining operations, rail and barge transport, transloading operations, trucking, and well site sand equipment.
- Able to understand and exhibit ethical behavior and business practices. Ensure own behavior and the behavior of others are consistent with these standards and align with the values of the Company.

- Job is performed in the office and out in the field observing operations.
- Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
- Extreme cold and heat: temperatures typically below 32 o F or above 100 o F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
- Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals.
- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasional amount of traversing through challenging terrain to evaluate project sites and conditions.
- Regular travel will be required to other locations.
- Regular travel to Company’s field operations. Approximately 40-50% of time in field.
Salary : $185,000 - $210,000
