ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

General description of main/primary duties and responsibilities of the job, aptitude, level of complexity, span of control, autonomy, decision making and judgement. It is central and necessary to the satisfactory performance of the job. Includes the following and other duties as assigned.

Under limited supervision, this position will:

  • Engage in risk analysis exercises with the Sourcing & Logistics team to be prepared for interruptions in rail and/or barge transportation.
  • Define and establish market intelligence analyst agencies to obtain up-to-date and accurate information on the status of the sand market, as it relates to supply, demand and pricing.
  • Establish baseline metrics for the group to ensure proper monitoring of rail and barge transport from public domain websites
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with vendors, non-contracted vendors, transload operators, railroads, and barge company representatives.
  • Lead all sand contract negotiations with suppliers and define the metrics for contract performance monitoring to properly recommend amendments, extensions, and ensure compliance to contractual obligations.
  • Communicate sand contract financial impacts related to schedule changes within the Company to leadership.
  • Oversee the process of sand forecast design and distribution to ensure that changes are considered and properly communicated to vendors.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Department to define the proper cost allocation mechanisms for wells.
  • Define key performance indicators for all suppliers and hold recurring meetings to ensure compliance.
  • Review and approve cost analysis for sand purchases and delivery to other internal departments for planning and budgets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, Licensure (minimum level required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Field of Study: Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in Oil & Gas specific to completions operations, procurement, contracts analysis, and logistics management.


CORE COMPETENCIES

List and describe the required factors (i.e. knowledge, skills, abilities, software programs), that are needed for this role.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong background in procurement or sourcing, contract analysis, vendor management, and bid processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage contracts from RFI to contract execution and ensure that all counterparties meet the terms of the contract throughout the life of the agreement.
  • Thorough understanding of negotiation strategies and execution guidelines to develop contract drafts both commercial and legal terms.
  • Detailed understanding of completions operations and engineering principles and, in order to communicate effectively regarding frac design changes, schedules, on-site equipment, and pad limitations.
  • High level understanding of frac sand mining operations, rail and barge transport, transloading operations, trucking, and well site sand handling equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and implementing solutions for supply chain interruptions.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Job is primarily performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.

  • Regular business hours.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Minimally lift, push, carry and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Minimally be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc.


TRAVEL

Approximate amount of time.

  • Regular travel may be required to other locations.
  • Approximate overnight travel is 10%.

Salary : $185,000 - $210,000
