POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Server Department: Food & Beverage

Salary Range: $12.15 Reports to: Food & Beverage Director

Employment Status: Seasonal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent will provide excellent service to guests by taking orders, delivering food and beverages, addressing customer needs, and helping create a positive dining experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

  • Greet guests in a polite, positive manner and create an atmosphere of hospitality.
  • Take food and drink orders accurately.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and courteously.
  • Promote menu items and make recommendations when appropriate.
  • Possess a working knowledge of all food, beverage, and specials on offer for our guests.
  • Responsible for overall guest satisfaction and assist guests in their dining experience.
  • Check on guests periodically to ensure all needs are met to their satisfaction.
  • Required to accurately input orders through our POS system and confirm accuracy.
  • Work closely with colleagues to relay pertinent information and function efficiently as a team.
  • Must work efficiently and in a timely manner even during times of increased business.
  • Understand and work efficiently in the layout and processes of the restaurant.
  • Responsible for handling cash transactions and maintaining proper reporting.
  • Maintain cleanliness and health code standards of the restaurant.
  • Possess the ability to react productively to other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Arizona Food Handler’s certificate (required prior to or within the timeframe required by local county health department regulations). Prior serving or customer service experience preferred but not required. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a busy environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and attitude. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Prior restaurant experience is required to function efficiently in this role.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Knowledge or ability to be trained in point of sales system. Access to email service. Accommodations may be made.

GENERAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of APM marina services and amenities.
  • Guest relation skills which allow calm, effective, polite and professional resolution of guest problems or concerns.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in fire extinguisher operation.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in ISO/EMS awareness.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in employee orientation.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazard communication.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in hazardous materials response/respiratory protection.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in emergency response.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in recyclable materials.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in blood borne pathogen awareness.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in food and beverage safety practices.
  • Knowledge or ability to be trained in food and beverage products and preparations.

DOES THE INCUMBENT HAVE ACCESS TO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION AS DEFINED BY THE ANTELOPE POINT MARINA HANDBOOK? IF YES, PLEASE EXPLAIN: Incumbent will have access to guest confidential payment information and itinerary. Responsibility for guest information and confidentiality will be required by incumbent.

DOES THE INCUMBENT HAVE ACCESS TO OR HANDLE COMPANY FUNDS? IF YES, PLEASE EXPLAIN: Incumbent will be required to process financial transactions and maintain reporting for restaurant funds. Incumbent will be required to make change and maintain proper procedure regarding cash and credit transactions.

IS IT IMPORTANT TO THIS POSITION THAT THE INCUMBENT BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE FLUENTLY IN ENGLISH? ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Employees will work both indoors and outdoors and at times in extreme weather conditions when reasonable.

ANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS STRENGTH DESCRIBE

  • Walking 75% of the time Carrying orders and conveying information throughout MVR.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Antelope Point Marina policy regarding employee performance evaluation. The employee understands that a 90 day performance evaluation will be conducted to discuss job responsibilities and performance requirements. Should the employee not meet the performance standards of the position, APM management reserves the right to terminate the employment relationship or relocate the employee to another position within the company, if available.
