Duties
- Lead and supervise nursing staff, including nurse managers and caregivers, ensuring they deliver compassionate, resident-centered care aligned with best practices in assisted living and nursing home environments.
- Develop, review, and update individualized care plans for residents based on comprehensive assessments, physiology knowledge, and medical records review.
- Oversee the management of electronic health record (EHR) systems and electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring accurate documentation review and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary team efforts to deliver services such as home health, hospice care, acute care, and home care as needed for residents’ specific needs.
- Monitor regulatory compliance related to Medicare, Medicaid, state licensing requirements, and healthcare standards; prepare for inspections and audits.
- Manage shift scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing levels for quality care delivery while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership in nurse management activities including supervising staff performance, conducting training on medical terminology, documentation procedures, and anatomy/physiology concepts.
- Facilitate communication with residents’ families regarding care plans and health updates to foster transparency and trust.
- Ensure all medical documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained according to legal standards; review medical records regularly for quality assurance.
Skills
- Extensive experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with a strong understanding of resident management.
- Proven management skills with supervising experience in healthcare settings; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Deep knowledge of nursing administration principles combined with hands-on experience in nurse management roles.
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR systems (Electronic Health Records) for efficient documentation review and data management.
- Strong understanding of Medicare regulations, licensing requirements, HIPAA compliance, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology knowledge essential for accurate assessments.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff while maintaining shift management responsibilities under pressure.
- Ability to interpret complex medical records and develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
