Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to residents in assisted living, memory care, and long-term care environments. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Support residents in maintaining their independence while providing necessary assistance with mobility and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in residents' conditions using EMR systems.
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their emotional well-being.
- Implement behavior management techniques as needed to support residents with developmental disabilities or dementia.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties as required.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each resident.
- Drive residents to appointments or community outings as needed, ensuring their safety during transport.
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory care practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and vital sign monitoring is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate a Hoyer lift and assist with mobility needs of residents.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in providing quality care to seniors.
