Substitute Teacher

Organization: Anser Charter School Location: Garden City, Idaho Position Type: On-Call / Part-Time Pay: Half-day $60, Full-day $120 Job Summary Anser Charter School is seeking passionate, adaptable, and community-minded substitutes to support our Kindergarten through 8th-grade classrooms. Anser focuses on character growth, high academic achievement, and teamwork. The substitute will step in during staff absences to maintain a safe, engaging, and respectful learning environment, ensuring that students continue their crew- and expedition-based learning seamlessly. Key Responsibilities Instructional Continuity: Deliver lesson plans left by the classroom teacher with enthusiasm, keeping students engaged and on-task. Classroom Culture: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized classroom that reflects Anser’s behavior expectations. Student Safety: Supervise students closely in the classroom, during transitions, at recess, and during dismissal. Reporting: Leave detailed notes for the returning teacher regarding student progress, behavior, and any completed work. Qualifications & Skills *A belief that all kids have promise and potential *A desire to have a positive impact on students and to support teachers *A belief in charter schools and support for school choice *A flexible schedule during normal school hours *A commitment to sub at least 5 times each semester *A clear criminal background history check *At least a high school diploma or GED *At least 18 years of age
