The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO) invests in strategies to support young people and their families to achieve their education, employment and financial goals. These investments are organized around four complementary strands of work: Employment, Education and Training; Financial Stability and Assets; Two-Generation Strategies; and Wraparound Supports for Economic Success.
The Foundation is seeking senior associate to contribute to the strategy development of the EET portfolio, which is focused on building scalable practice models, field-building approaches and policy and system solutions that promote labor market opportunities and outcomes – particularly for youth and young adults of color. The senior associate will also collaborate with the CEO’s other portfolios, as well as with other Foundation units and external partners.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
- Master’s degree (MBA, MPP, MPA, MPH, MSW or JD) with knowledge of economic development, community development, planning, business, education, policy or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience working directly with community-based organizations, intermediaries, government and/or policy-advocacy organizations implementing employment, education and/or other strategies aimed at increasing economic opportunity and closing racial and ethnic equity gaps in the labor market for youth, families and communities.
- Knowledge of strategies and promising practices for improvement labor market outcomes for youth and young adults, particularly young people of color from families and comm unities that are struggling financially.
- Knowledge of the changing labor market, the structure or entry-level employment opportunities and its impact on youth and young adult workers.
