We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and review of general ledger transactions to maintain precise financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using various financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
- Support payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, UltiPro, Kronos, or Paychex; ensure timely processing of payroll data.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other key financial transactions through meticulous data entry and bookkeeping.
- Contribute to internal audits by providing documentation related to account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial system controls such as SOX compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, tax preparation, and financial analysis projects to support strategic decision-making.
Experience
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a solid understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
- Hands-on experience working with multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro and experience managing accounts payable/receivable processes.
- Strong numeracy skills with the ability to perform detailed data analysis using Excel and other financial tools.
- Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management.
- Prior experience in public accounting or non-profit organizations is a plus but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy in fast-paced environments.
