Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection.
- Provide compassionate pet care by feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animals’ health status.
- Handle various animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their comfort during examinations or treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques within treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Support front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners.
- Assist with laboratory tasks including sample processing and basic diagnostic testing under supervision.
- Manage kennel areas by cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal behavior, and ensuring proper animal husbandry practices are followed.
- Support specialized care for diverse animals including dogs, cats, and equines with knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy.
Skills
- Prior kennel experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge to ensure optimal care standards.
- Veterinary technician or veterinary clinic experience that demonstrates familiarity with clinical procedures and terminology.
- Strong animal handling skills across various species with expertise in dog handling and equine experience.
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.
