Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with clinical procedures, including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection.
  • Provide compassionate pet care by feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animals’ health status.
  • Handle various animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their comfort during examinations or treatments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques within treatment areas to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Support front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating with pet owners.
  • Assist with laboratory tasks including sample processing and basic diagnostic testing under supervision.
  • Manage kennel areas by cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal behavior, and ensuring proper animal husbandry practices are followed.
  • Support specialized care for diverse animals including dogs, cats, and equines with knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy.

Skills

  • Prior kennel experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge to ensure optimal care standards.
  • Veterinary technician or veterinary clinic experience that demonstrates familiarity with clinical procedures and terminology.
  • Strong animal handling skills across various species with expertise in dog handling and equine experience.
  • Ability to perform animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols and aseptic techniques for infection control.
  • Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and basic diagnostic testing.
  • Excellent communication skills for front desk responsibilities and client interactions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
