The Role
We are looking for a motivated and caring Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal health and is eager to grow their skills in a hands-on clinical environment.
What You'll Do
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during exams, procedures, and surgeries
- Restrain and handle patients in a safe, calm, and compassionate manner
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the supervising veterinarian
- Collect and process laboratory samples (blood draws, urinalysis, cytology, etc.)
- Communicate with clients regarding appointments, discharge instructions, and general pet care
- Maintain accurate medical records in the practice management system
- Support front-of-house staff with check-in/check-out as needed
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred (but we are willing to train the right candidate!)
- Genuine love for animals and a calm, patient demeanor
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of veterinary terminology is a plus
- Availability for full-time or part-time hours, including some Saturdays
