What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patternmaker - ANNA SUI position at Anna Sui?
Anna Sui is seeking a talented and experienced Pattern Maker. The Pattern Maker will be working alongside the Designer and the team in draping and creating womenswear apparel, constructing patterns, and executing fittings & alterations during runway and production.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Designer, Fabric & Design team, and Sample Manager on fabric widths, layout, prints and matching
- Able to drape and create patterns from sketches, photos, or reference samples
- Adjust patterns from new or existing patterns
- Create a cutter's must for each garment, pattern spec measurements, and sewing instructions
- Attend runway and production fit meetings and make necessary alterations on samples and patterns
- Finalize patterns, cutters’ musts, and finished measurements for handoff to the Production Manager
- Manage and organize patterns and markers
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Knowledge of patternmaking, grading, specs, textiles, and garment construction
- Detail oriented for fit accuracy and precision
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
