What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper position at Ann M Hartz CPA & Associates?
We are looking for an Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets for our clients. Our bookkeeping is a service offered to our clients as an "after the fact" by the bank statements. This position will also handle financial reviews, A/P, payroll, tax deposits, and quarterly filings for clients.
You will be required to finish the monthly bookkeeping in a timely manner to provide monthly financials to our clients. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping in a professional setting and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.
Hours are:
Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am - 12:00pm for May - December.
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm for January - April.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions for clients
- Prepare budget forecasts if needed
- Publish financial statements in a timely manner to clients
- Reconcile monthly bank statements
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Process payroll
- Schedule tax deposits
- File clients quarterly and/or yearly reports
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping regulations and procedures
- Hands-on experience with accounting softwares
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Degree in Accounting is required
