The Pharmacy Technician Informatics Specialist supports Pharmacy Informatics in optimizing the use of technology in pharmacy operations. This role involves assisting with the planning, implementation, and maintenance of information systems, with a focus on enhancing medication safety, improving efficiency, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Duties & Responsibilities

Works with the Pharmacy Informatics Manager to accomplish the following:

• Maintain pharmacy automation.
• Inspect robot automation equipment daily for issues, wear, and functionality.
• Perform automation equipment cleaning, maintenance, and optimization as required.
• Responsible for monitoring and/or ordering consumable supplies required for the operation of the equipment.
• Responsible for basic troubleshooting and maintenance of automation equipment and reporting unresolved equipment issues to the appropriate helpdesk
• Assign medications onsite directly to the Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC).
• Support daily inventory management of XR2
• Provide support for computer systems and software facilitating pharmacy operations.
• Work with pharmacists and IT professionals for system implementation and optimization, especially ADS integration.
• Assist with developing policies related to pharmacy information systems, focusing on data integrity within ADS.
• Participate in rotating informatics call
• Inventory Management
• Add and manage medication levels in automation based on data usage, demand, and workflow.

Inventory Management:

• Add and manage medication levels in automation based on data usage, demand, and workflow.
• Load medications and support the implementation of new cabinets.
• Maintain application data and assist with reporting and analysis, including ADS inventory management.
• Assist with analyzing usage and inventory data within the ADS for optimal ordering.
• Assist in maintaining fiscal responsibility when ordering items from wholesaler
• Help configure and maintain systems for optimal drug procurement and support interfaces with perpetual inventory systems
• Collaborate to manage shortages by evaluating automated inventory and suggesting alternatives.

Provide education and resources for staff:

• Act as a resource or SME, providing training and/or assistance either on site or remotely to ensure optimal workflow.
• Develop training materials and provide support for pharmacy staff on new systems, including ADS, and repackaging hardware and software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• State Certified Pharmacy Technician: Strong background in pharmacy operations and technology.
• Informatics or Computer Science Experience: Preferred experience in informatics or computer science.
• Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of pharmacy information systems, EHRs, Microsoft programs, and dispensing software/hardware
• ADS Expertise: Specific knowledge and experience with ADS operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring data integrity within pharmacy systems.
• Problem-solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with pharmacy information systems, especially ADS.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and collaboration with others.
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies
