Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, and other construction machinery using OEM schematics and electrical testing tools.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and air brake systems to restore equipment functionality efficiently.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding and hand tools to meet specific operational needs or repair requirements.
- Maintain detailed service records, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and interpret schematics to identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and HVAC system repairs to prolong equipment lifespan.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks during repairs or assembly of large machinery components ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Support heavy equipment operation when necessary to test repaired machinery or assist in field service activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, tractors, and farm machinery.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics for both automotive and industrial systems; ability to read schematics accurately.
- Skilled in welding, fabrication, hydraulic troubleshooting, and the use of power tools for repairs or modifications.
- Familiarity with OEM parts replacement procedures and the use of diagnostic software specific to heavy equipment brands such as Caterpillar or similar manufacturers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when required for testing or servicing purposes.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication.
- Must be able to work on older model large Cat Dozers including D9H, D9R, D8R, D6R ect.
- Must have experience with emissons repairs to newer equipment
- Line boring, Welding and or Hydraulic Cylinder Repair is a plus
- CDL Preferred but not required
- Must be able to obtain a Medical Card
- Verifiable Field Service experience preferred
