Licensed Veterinary Technician
Animal Vision Center (AVC) is a Veterinary Ophthalmology only practice located in Mountlake Terrace, WA that is looking for a friendly and career minded licensed Veterinary Technician to expand our team. Job Type: Full-time, 4-day a week schedule, open Monday-Friday only (no weekends or evenings)
Pay: Compensation is based on experience/skill level. Range: $36.00 - $46.00 per hour
Veterinary Technician applicants will need the following qualifications to be considered for the position:
- Current Washington State Veterinary Technician License.
- A minimum of three years of veterinary anesthesia experience required including: developing anesthesia protocols; anesthesia induction, maintenance, monitoring and recovery; endotracheal intubation; and fluid administration.
- Experience with mechanical ventilation is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia machine usage, monitoring equipment (SPO2, ETCO2, ECG, and NIBP), and different anesthesia breathing circuits.
- Ability to assists veterinarians with ophthalmic exams of small animal and exotic patients in a safe and compassionate manner.
- Ability to efficiently manage a high-volume outpatient ophthalmology day, coordinating patient flow and diagnostics to keep the doctor on schedule.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and preparing/maintaining surgical instrumentation and equipment.
- High level of focus on exceptional patient care and communication with clients and referring veterinarians. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality veterinary care to animals, including administering medications and performing diagnostic tests.
- Assist in surgical procedures by preparing instruments and monitoring anesthesia.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care instructions.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff.
