Position Overview:
We’re seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Facility Assistant / Cleaner to help keep our hospital clean, safe, and running efficiently.
This position ensures that all areas of the hospital are properly sanitized, orderly, and in good repair, contributing to a professional and welcoming atmosphere for clients, patients, and staff.
The Facility Assistant / Cleaner plays a key role in ensuring the hospital remains a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for both staff and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Clean and disinfect all hospital areas, including exam rooms, treatment areas, restrooms, offices, and public spaces.
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and cleaning products.
- Remove trash following proper safety and disposal procedures.
- Assist with laundry, including washing, drying, and folding linens, towels, and bedding.
- Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming as needed.
- Wipe down surfaces, counters, and equipment regularly to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Maintain janitorial items (mops, buckets, etc.) in good condition.
Facility Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform general facility maintenance and handyman work, including minor repairs, plastering, painting, and basic maintenance tasks.
- Monitor the facility for needed repairs or safety issues and address them promptly.
- Maintain upkeep policies, including documenting maintenance schedules and ensuring all equipment is serviced on time.
- Coordinate with vendors, including Cintax merchandise deliveries, maintenance contractors, repair technicians, and service providers as needed.
- Assist with general building upkeep, including changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, or adjusting fixtures.
Additional Duties:
- Support hospital operations by maintaining organized storage and supply areas.
- Assist with heavy packages and inventory movement as needed.
- Assist in preparing the facility for inspections, client visits, and daily operations.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or facility concerns to management immediately.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in facility maintenance, janitorial, or handyman work preferred.
- Ability to perform light repairs, plastering, and painting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and proactive, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working around animals of all sizes.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced 24-hour veterinary hospital environment.
- Exposure to cleaning agents, animal hair, and occasional noise from patients and equipment.
Salary : $20 - $22
