What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial/Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time) position at Animal Friends?
Description
Animal Friends is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian/Maintenance team member to join us.
This part-time position will have flexible hours, with the possibility of additional shifts and schedule changes as needs evolve. Flexibility in availability is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
• Perform thorough cleaning of staff common areas, including kitchens, break rooms, and office spaces
• Clean and maintain public areas such as restrooms, hallways, and large gathering spaces
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently met with attention to detail
• Assist with event setup and takedown as needed
• Maintain outdoor areas, including:
- Emptying exterior trash receptacles
- Snow and ice removal on sidewalks and patios
• Restock cleaning supplies as needed
Requirements
• Prior custodial or facilities cleaning and maintenance experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to work independently and follow established cleaning protocols
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Must have a sincere interest in the vision, mission, and culture of Animal Friends
• Must be comfortable working with and handling dogs, cats and rabbits of various sizes and temperaments and be able to successfully complete Animal Friends’ handling training
• Must have a valid PA driver's license
• Must be able to do heavy lifting, moving and pushing, work around chemicals, and work with building equipment and tools.
• Comfortable performing both indoor and outdoor tasks year-round
