MAINTENANCE/CUSTODIAL WORKER
JOB SUMMARY
Seton LaSalle Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated school maintenance/custodial worker to maintain a clean, safe, and fully functional learning environment and campus for our students, staff, and visitors, including the school building, grounds, and athletics fields/buildings. This role bridges daytime operational support with evening cleaning routines. This individual will handle daily sanitization, manage afternoon event setups, and perform routine minor building maintenance and repairs.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- School Sanitation: Deep-clean restrooms, sanitize high-touch surfaces, and restock supplies daily.
- Daily Maintenance: Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax cafeteria and hallway floors after high-traffic lunch periods.
- Waste Management: Collect and empty cafeteria, classroom, and office trash and recycling.
- Minor Repairs: Fix simple plumbing leaks, replace lightbulbs, patch drywall, and paint trim as needed.
- Groundskeeping: Keep school entrances clear of debris. Shovel snow and apply ice-melt during winter weather.
- Event Setup & Flexibility: Arrange chairs, tables, and equipment for assemblies, sports, or evening school functions.
- Emergency Response: Remain flexible to adjust hours or assist with facility emergencies and severe-weather cleanup.
- Safety Compliance: Secure building doors, report major hazards, and handle cleaning chemicals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
