As a future team member, you will be provided the opportunity grow within the art of phone triage, the recognition of patient crises, and supporting the family and the team of the patient as a whole unit.
Position Overview:
The Veterinary Advocate is the primary point of contact for all clients seeking care with AEC. They are responsible for setting the tone of a client’s visit and helping to ensure the client understands what to expect from their visit. Veterinary Advocates allow our treatment team to focus on medical care by handling phone calls, intake of emergencies, as well as admission and discharge of hospitalized patients.
Advocates coordinate directly with our medical team to ensure the most critical patients are prioritized and to balance their workload. Additionally, they work closely with our clients to educate them on the financial policy of AEC and to help find alternative payment options when needed.

Position Requirements
A successful career as a Veterinary Advocate at Animal Emergency Care requires:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of employment as a veterinary receptionist or transferrable skills within a high traffic customer service realm such as bartender, barista, bank teller, etc
- Desire to always seek the highest standards for their clients and patients
- Ability to approach every client, co-worker, and patient with compassion
- Confidence in emergent situations
- Drive to expand your mind at every opportunity
- Calling to make a positive impact in the lives of others
Position Salary and Benefits
The entry wage is $24.21 per hour with growth potential to $28.21 in this position. All advocate team members, working at least 24 hours per week, are provided the following benefits:
