Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist position overview: Animal Dental Specialists of Nevada is seeking a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to help us in providing high-quality care for our animal patients and clients at our Dental Specialty Hospital in Las Vegas. This position involves a combination of administrative duties, clinical tasks and requires compassion, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals, people and dentistry.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

1. Administrative duties/Client Communication:

· Answer multiple line telephones to assist clients in scheduling consultations or dental procedures as well as maintain accurate records of client and patient information.

· Greet and assist clients with a warm and welcome demeanor, both in person and on the phone.

· Foster a positive and empathetic client experience, building trust and rapport with pet owners.

· Handle inquiries and triage emergency situations, relaying information to the DVM.

2. Animal Care and Handling:

· Assist in restraining and comforting animals during examinations and procedures. · Monitor and ensure the well-being of animals in the hospital.

· Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian or licensed veterinary technician.

3. Clinical Support:

· Proficient in restraint and handling of canines and felines for venipuncture, IV catheter placement and induction.

· Monitoring patient vital signs.

· Ensure supplies are stocked in all areas of the hospital (exam rooms, treatment, CE conference room, reception area) as well as maintaining their cleanliness and organization.

· Assist with diagnostic procedures such as collecting and running lab samples.

· Record patient information, including vital signs, medical history, and treatment plans as set by the DVM.

4. Collaborative Teamwork:

· Work closely with veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care and maintain a smooth workflow.

· Assist in training and mentoring new veterinary assistants or other team members.

· Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities. · Be willing to learn new skills.

5. Marketing and Client Engagement:

· Create and schedule social media posts that highlight clinic services, patient stories, and educational content.

· Capture photos and videos of patients (with owner consent) for marketing use.

· Assist with email newsletters, blogs, website updates, and promotional materials.

· Monitor social media engagement and respond to comments/messages in line with clinic guidelines.

· Assist with planning and attending community events or outreach programs.

· Track marketing metrics and report performance to management.

Other requirements:

· Minimum of 3 years experience as a Veterinary Assistant in an animal hospital, preferably with some experience with dentistry

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Excellent communication skills with clients and other staff members

· Good understanding of basic math and reading

· Reliable, responsible and of good moral character

· Able to maintain a pleasant, calm demeanor in all circumstances

· Able to take direction and supervision with active listening skills

· Able to safely handle cleaning chemicals

· Maintain a clean and organized work area

· Able to work alone with good time management and also work well with others

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
