Counterperson

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Counterperson to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their automotive parts needs. Your ability to communicate effectively, build relationships, and demonstrate a solid understanding of automotive parts and accessories is essential. The Counterperson plays a vital role in sales, inventory management, and ensuring customers leave satisfied and confident in their purchases. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where service is paramount and technical knowledge is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Engage with walk-in customers and garage clients to understand their automotive parts requirements through friendly and professional communication.
• Provide expert advice on automotive parts and accessories, leveraging your knowledge of most automotive systems to assist customers effectively.
• Facilitate automotive parts sales by accurately identifying customer needs, recommending suitable products, and processing transactions efficiently.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships through attentive service, friendly banter, and personalized assistance.
• Manage retail math to ensure accurate pricing, sales tracking, and inventory control.
• Oversee inventory management by monitoring stock levels, ordering parts as needed, and maintaining organized storage of parts and accessories.
• Utilize computer systems proficiently to look up parts information, check inventory status, and process sales transactions.
• Contribute to a team environment that emphasizes excellent service while supporting store operations.

Experience

• Prior experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not mandatory; strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Knowledge of automotive parts, accessories, or automotive systems is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with inventory management software will be beneficial.
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently while maintaining a friendly demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with customers and work collaboratively with team members.
• This job requires driving! Must have 3 years licensed driving experience and a clean license (no wiggle room on this one, our insurance company runs background checks! )
