The Area Representative and Student Mentor plays a vital role in supporting students and enhancing their educational experience. This position involves working closely with international students to provide guidance, mentorship, and support while also managing volunteer opportunities within the community. - Assist in coordinating student and host parent matches for an academic school year.
- Serve as a mentor to international visiting students, providing academic support and personal guidance to help them achieve their goals.
- Organize and manage volunteer opportunities and excursions for visiting international students.
- Collaborate with local schools and the community to create opportunities for student engagement and development, if needed.
- Monitor student academic progress and provide feedback to help them navigate challenges effectively.
- Maintain communication with students, host parents, and educational staff to ensure a supportive learning environment.
- Document interactions and progress reports for students under your mentorship.
Requirements
- Experience in volunteer management or recruiting is highly desirable., but not a requirement.
- A desire to connect with diverse student populations.
- Experience working with students in an educational or mentoring capacity is helpful.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all students.
