Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s .
- Monitor patient conditions by observing physical and emotional states; report changes promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning patient areas, laundry, and general sanitation.
- Conduct patient observations to identify any health concerns or safety issues; document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately.
- Support residents in engaging in social activities or community outings to promote mental stimulation and socialization.
- Utilize specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance while practicing proper safety protocols. - Follow care plans meticulously designed by healthcare teams to deliver consistent, personalized support aligned with each individual’s needs.
- Participate in ongoing training such as first aid, CPR certification, dementia care techniques, Alzheimer’s care strategies, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Uphold all safety standards including HIPAA compliance and infection control procedures to protect both residents and staff.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care, home health services, or group homes is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and care plan implementation.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia care are advantageous.
- Experience with specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
