Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene.
- Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to promote safety during movement.
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings according to care plans.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs and preferences.
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean environment by performing light cleaning duties in client living spaces to promote hygiene and comfort.
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and assist in updating individualized care plans regularly.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care is advantageous.
- Familiarity with working with people with developmental disabilities or autism enhances your ability to provide specialized support.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus.
- Experience with patient monitoring tools and techniques for vital signs measurement is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts is essential.
