Housekeeping Job Description

Under the direction of The Transportation and Maintenance Manager, the housekeeping staff is responsible for the general cleanliness of buildings, facilities and grounds.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products

· Perform general cleaning such as vacuum carpets, sweeping, mopping floors, dust, scrub sinks and clean the toilets as needed

· Dispose of trash from bins and containers

· Dust and polish furniture and room accessories as needed

· Scrub sinks, basins, bathtubs, and toilets

· Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters as needed

· Keep all public spaces neat and tidy

· Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered

· Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices

Requirements and Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Physically able to push vacuum cleaner

· Ability to lift up to 25 to 30 pounds

· Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time

· Previous experience cleaning

· Pays attention to detail when cleaning

· Organized and able to follow a schedule

· Ability to follow verbal directions

· Ability to work with little supervision and maintain high level of performance

· Prioritization and time management skills

· Working quickly without compromising quality

· Knowledge of English language
