We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Technician and Pharmacy Person to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting laboratory operations and pharmacy functions within a busy veterinary setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a passion for patient care, and experience in pharmacy or laboratory environments, contributing to optimal patient outcomes and efficient clinic operations.
Duties
- Perform laboratory tests and analyses accurately to support diagnosis and treatment plans for veterinary patients.
- Assist in medication preparation, including compounding, IV infusions, and aseptic techniques to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including medication intake, storage, and documentation, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Support hospital staff with medication administration and patient service activities, maintaining thorough medical terminology records.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility in all laboratory and pharmacy areas using proper aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals to ensure timely delivery of medications and laboratory results for critical care cases.
- Assist with hospital intake procedures, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or laboratory technician within a veterinary or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy practices and critical care procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working in acute care or hospital environments with a focus on patient service and patient care.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory and documentation efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with veterinary staff and patients’ families.
- Prior experience in IV infusion procedures, hospital pharmacy operations, or medical supply management is preferred.
