Job description:
We are seeking a full-time entry to mid-level attorney to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who is passionate about immigration law and eager to gain hands-on experience in a client-focused environment.
The ideal candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish), organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines while providing caring and professional client service. Prior immigration experience through internships, trial clinic advocacy, prior employment, or fellowship programs is strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates initiative, strong writing skills, and a genuine interest in immigration law.
This position offers substantial direct client interaction, case strategy involvement, and courtroom or interview preparation experience.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting client consultations and evaluating potential immigration options and relief
- Communicating with prospective clients and assisting with case intake and strategy discussions
- Preparing and reviewing immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions and applications
- Managing family-based immigration matters from intake through final determination
- Assisting with employment-based immigration filings and supporting documentation
- Preparing USCIS applications, waivers, adjustment packages, consular processing cases, and related filings
- Drafting legal support letters, affidavits, declarations, motions, and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other agency correspondence
- Preparing clients for USCIS interviews, consular interviews, and immigration court appearances
- Conducting legal research and staying up to date on immigration law updates and procedural changes
- Reviewing filings prepared by paralegals and support staff for accuracy and completeness
- Maintaining organized case files, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines, and case management procedures
- Communicating with clients regarding case status, document requests, and case expectations
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- Bilingual in English and Spanish REQUIRED, other languages a plus
- Strong legal writing and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF, and Windows-based systems
- Experience with Clio, INSZoom case management software is a plus
- Prior immigration law experience preferred but not required
