POSITION – Medical Director
SUMMARY: Our practice is advanced in population health management. We have multiple contracts with payers, specifically, risk sharing contracts. This position requires that the Medical Director is very familiar with these types of payer contracts and is experienced in managing the performance of a practice to attain great outcomes.
JOB DUTIES
· Provides medical leadership for utilization management, cost containment, and medical quality improvement
· Develops, establishes, and implements goals and policies aimed at proving quality and providing cost-effective services
· Provides medical expertise in the development of quality improvement and utilization management programs in accordance with regulatory, state, corporate, and accreditation requirements
· Evaluates trends in utilization of medical services, unusual provider practice patterns, and adequacy of benefit/payment components
· Interfaces with physicians and other providers in order to introduce recommendations that would improve utilization and health care quality
· Develops and updates clinical policies and procedures and ensures implementation and awareness among clinical staff at all locations
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of professional societies, insurers, and health agencies at the local, state, and federal level to insure the compliance of the department’s various health programs with national and statewide medical guidelines
· Ability to record, organize, analyze and present data with accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
· Ability to thoroughly interpret and renegotiate payer contracts
- Work with senior administrators and other providers in developing new liens of business related to the main core of providing comprehensive primary care, such as projects that include, but are not limited to, expanding Angel Kids statewide and nationally, and working on delivering a Pediatric Innovation Center
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- MD or DO (FL licensed OR ability to attain FL license before start date)
· Board certified in either pediatrics
· 5 years of senior level position(s) with supervisory responsibilities
· 5 years of clinical experience in a pediatric ambulatory delivery system
- A motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
- Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation
JOB TYPE – Part Time
