Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote healthy living
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols in accordance with health standards
- Engage residents in social activities and community outings to foster socialization and enhance quality of life
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA and assist in updating individual care plans
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Certification or training in CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance, and medication administration is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when needed and operate patient monitoring equipment safely
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support others’ independence and well-being
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends or holidays as required
